Trong buổi làm việc vừa qua, đại diện tập đoàn An Bình Group đã tiếp đón và trao đổi những vấn đề quan trọng với ngài Kishani Wickramasinghe – Công sứ Thương Mại của Đại sứ quán Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka là một trong những quốc gia sớm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao với Việt Nam và cũng là một trong những quốc gia đầu tiên mà Việt Nam thiết lập cơ quan đại diện tại nước ngoài. Việt Nam và Sri Lanka chính thức thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao vào ngày 21/7/1970.
Từ đó đến nay, Việt Nam và Sri Lanka luôn củng cố tình hữu nghị truyền thống tốt đẹp và tăng cường hợp tác nhiều mặt vì lợi ích của nhân dân hai nước. Đặc biệt là trong các hoạt động xuất nhập khẩu, Việt Nam nhập khẩu từ Sri Lanka các mặt hàng như da giầy, nguyên liệu thô, thực phẩm, rau củ…
Quan hệ thương mại Việt Nam-Sri Lanka gần đây có bước phát triển tích cực. Năm 2018, kim ngạch thương mại hai chiều đạt 363,37 triệu USD; năm 2021, đạt 460,49 triệu USD, trong đó xuất khẩu của Việt Nam sang Sri Lanka đạt 397,83 triệu USD, tăng 59% so với năm 2020. Sang năm 2024, Việt Nam – Sri Lanka hướng tới tăng trưởng kim ngạch thương mại hai chiều đạt 500 triệu USD.
Chia sẻ tại buổi gặp gỡ, ngài Kishani Wickramasinghe luôn nhấn mạnh về tầm quan trọng của mối quan hệ mật thiết giữa Việt Nam và Sri Lanka. Hiện nay, ngày càng có nhiều doanh nghiệp Sri Lanka quan tâm đến thị trường Việt Nam nói riêng và khu vực ASEAN nói chung. Đặc biệt, Sri Lanka cũng đang tăng cường xuất khẩu vào Việt Nam các sản phẩm mà Sri Lanka có thế mạnh như thịt bò, thịt trâu, thịt gà,…
